An incredible ad campaign by Dove created by Ogilvy and Mather, Brazil focuses on ‘real beauty’. According to the Brand officials the mission of the campaign is ‘to create a world where beauty is a source of confidence and not anxiety’.
The ad basically shows a forensic artist drawing sketches of various women first based on the description of the individual how they see themselves and another sketch based on the details given by others who have met them. The two sketches have marked differences wherein the second sketch is invariably better. Women when describing themselves were more critical about themselves, their freckles, scars, crow feet and things like these while the people who met them described them in a very positive light. They saw them beyond their scars, aging lines, dark circles and acne and pimples.
The ad definitely reaches out to the woman in you. The research done by Dove people have found that only 4% of women think themselves to be beautiful. The fact is every woman is unique and beautiful.
