Noida is the poster-boy of development in Uttar Pradesh. A whopping Rs 20,000 crore budget has been approved by the Industrial Authorities of Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway. A major chunk will go to infra projects including development of a much-awaited heliport and convention center.

The infrastructure development and growth of Noida region has continued to be phenomenal. However, safety and security has been a regular concern for investors and residents. Despite being a fastest growing city in India, Noida has a high crime index according to Numbeo a site with user contributed database. Noida’s abysmal law and order situaltion is a deterrent for new investors and a threat to business climate.

According to an RTI report there have been 1093 including 66 SUVs reported car thefts in Gautam Buddh Nagar in the last 12 months (June 2014 – July 2015). Noida police has been able to recover a meager 124 vehicles so far. Recent theft of ITBP IGs official car was an appalling statement on law-and-order situation in Noida.
It is heartening to know, Noida Police will add 15 new police posts to beef up the security arrangements in the city. These will augment the existing 45 Police Check Posts. Phase II and sector 39 police station will each have 4 new police check-post. Noida-Greater Noida expressway will have 5 and one each in sector 24 and Phase III police station in Mamura village. Hopefully, this would improve the law and order situation.
Security is a prime concern and an imperative to create a conducive business and investment clime. Recently, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) conducted a survey and identified over 200 spots in Noida city where high-definition CCTV cameras will be installed. This is part of the ambitious projects of the Integrated Traffic Management System (ITMS) and Smart City Surveillance System (SCSS).

The infra and housing projects, Metro and new elevated roads, skyways and flyways makes Noida a well connected hub of business activity. The cultural scene too is reverberating in the city. By and large Noida is the best township in the entire National Capital Region (NCR).

Noida is on a roll. All the stalled projects will be on track for delivery, hopefully, very soon. The case in point is the Noida Metro project which is expected to complete before time.

These infra-investments are expected to cater to residents of Noida directly by providing better quality of life through better roads, city transportation, metro, flyways, skyways, FOBs modern surveillance systems etc and indirectly by getting bigger investors, MNCs and in turn more job opportunities.
I love your series on fences. It is a very unique idea..thanks for hosting it. Have a great day, Theresa!

I don't see anybody making new affordable but quality schools, or public libraries or cultural centres or more hospitals. Or parks.

Hmm…that point is worth thinking over. The affordable government schools are in a sorry state….almost everywhere in the country.
As per the budget part of these funds will be allocated for building a convention center which will of course double up as a cultural center. There's a new hospital that has come up in the city…but public library is a gap that needs to be filled in Noida.

Good to know that Price Water House has surveyed the area. Hope crime rates fall and Noida becomes safer. It has many other things to recommend it though.
