Ali made his debut on the Indian music scene with the album Sunoh in 1996. The album was a roaring success and stayed at top positions at the MTV Asia Charts for 60 weeks. This declared the arrival of a new star of Indian pop music.
Lucky Ali’s debut album won top awards in Indian music including the Best Pop Male Vocalist at the 1996 Screen Awards and Channel V Viewers Choice Award in 1997. The song ‘O Sanam’ from Sunoh launched his career.
His next album Sifar was noted for its music, lyrics and vocals. Later he worked on music albums Aks and Kabhi Aisa Lagta Hai. He is also known for songs Anjaani Raahon Mein, Nasha Nasha, Ek Pal Ka Jeena, Na Tum Jaano Na Hum and Aa Bhi Jaa among others.

Born Maqsood Mahmood Ali, famous as Lucky Ali, the 64-year old singer is the prodigal son of legendary actor-filmmaker Mehmood. He made his breakthrough in Bollywood with two hit tracks in the 2000 movie Kaho Na… Pyaar Hai. He even ventured into acting with films like Kaante(2002) and Sur(2003).
Notable Bollywood singing to his credit are films Sur (2003), Bachna Ae Haseeno (2008), Anjaana Anjaani (2010) and Tamasha (2015). He has worked with ace composers AR Rahman, Vishal–Shekhar, Mikey McCleary, and Prashant Pillai among others.

Lucky Ali is performing live with his team at f Bar & Lounge in Noida. Dinushan Shanmuganathan will join Ali on drums and percussions. Suraj Gulvady will be playing electric guitar and backing vocals. Annada Prasanna Pattanaik will be on bamboo flute and also backing vocals. Subash Pradhan too will be backing vocals and play acoustic guitar while Bharath Kumar Iyer will take to keyboard, percussion at the same time backing vocals. Lucky Ali and his team will come together to spin the magic of music for you.
