About the Event
The 7th Nadi Utsav returns to the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) with this year’s edition dedicated to the Yamuna River. Bringing together scholars, artists, filmmakers, photographers and environmentalists, the festival explores the river’s ecological, cultural and historical significance through exhibitions, documentary screenings, seminars and public participation initiatives.
From conversations on river conservation to visual storytelling and artistic interpretations, the festival offers visitors an opportunity to rediscover the Yamuna through multiple perspectives.

Film Festival
The festival is inviting submissions of short films, documentaries, reels and other visual storytelling formats exploring life along rivers, river culture, folk traditions, history, ecology, livelihoods and personal experiences.
This year, entries centred on the Yamuna will receive special attention.

Photography Exhibition
Photographers are invited to submit images documenting the Yamuna River, its changing landscapes, riverbanks, communities and ecological heritage.
Both contemporary and archival photographs are welcome.

Special Exhibition
Visitors can also explore an exhibition inspired by the remarkable works of Ustad Mansur, the celebrated Mughal natural history painter patronised by Emperor Jahangir.
The exhibition revisits the flora and fauna that once flourished across the Yamuna floodplains, illustrating how the river has shaped both India’s ecological and artistic heritage.
