DLF Retail, part of the 60 year old DLF group – country’s leading developer of residential, commercial and retail properties space announced in October 2012 the launch of its most awaited project – The DLF Mall Of India, a retail destination designed, constructed, leased and operated by DLF Retail.
The announcement marks the group’s entry in the NCR region and doubles its retail portfolio as it adds over 1.8 million sq.ft (GLA) to the current 1.4 million sq.ft (GLA).
DLF Mall Of India is set to redefine the world of retail in the country as it is going to be India’s largest mall, not just in terms of sheer area, spanning across 1.8 million sq.ft. but will also have 14 anchors, 6 customized shopping levels with over 475 retail units, coupled with the largest indoor entertainment city spread over 2 levels – which would have 7 DT star screens and the largest food court with over 1200 seats.
Strategically located at Sector 18 Noida, DLF Mall Of India will be extremely well connected to the three affluent catchments – that of South Delhi and Lutyen’s Delhi (DND Expressway), Noida and Greater Noida (the Greater Noida Expressway) and Noida and Mayur Vihar (Ashoka Road) and is expected to the destination of choice for Gen Y of the country as it reaches out to over 49 colleges and over 47 corporate giants present in the vicinity.
Speaking at the launch, Ms. Pushpa Bector, Senior Vice President & Mall Head,
“DLF Mall Of India is our dream project, which is going to be the largest retail destination of the country owned, leased and operated by DLF. This model would ensure control over quality and customer service and I am confident that owing to the recent relaxation of the FDI norms, many international brands to debut with us with their flagship stores.”
She further added, that
“We have created some of the most successful and innovative retail destinations in the country and with DLF Mall of India, Noida we are confident that we would be creating a new benchmark in retail experience. We are eagerly looking forward to the third quarter of 2013, when we add another first to the fastest growing and well planned city of NCR – Noida.
Spread across 6 levels, the Lower Ground level – Market Place, will house the best hypermarket and a home zone. The well detailed travelators will allow for convenience and easy movement of trolleys for the shoppers.
The Ground and First level of DLF Mall Of India
International Boulevard, will focus on international fashion brands and will be home to the first flagship stores of brands entering the country. For the first time, there will be twin level fashion stores that will provide easy access to multiple floors.
The Second level at DLF Mall of India
Indian Boulevard, will have two segments, the first one will have the renowned Indian designers brands, the other to have the most popular ethnic brands. The level will also assist in planning the mega Indian weddings as stores of wedding planners, trousseau packaging and invitation cards would also be present.
The Third level at DLF Mall of India
Family Hub, bright and colorful would again have two sections –one for the kids with toy, book and apparel stores and the other to host a selection of casual dining options.
The Fourth and the Fifth level
Entertainment City, will prove to be the preferred choice for entertainment as it would have over 7 DT star screens, an ice skating format, EAT Food lounge – a food court which will offer 20 local and global cuisines.
Chief Architects and Planners of DLF Mall Of India
Benoy, an international firm, designers and architects of landmark projects like ION Orchard – Singapore, Ferrari World – Abu Dhabi, Westfield London are the chief architects and planners of DLF Mall Of India.
The master planners are adding a unique design element to the project– The Racetrack Atrium, which would allow excellent visibility for all store fronts from atriums across levels. Another first to the project would be presence of over 73 escalators and an express escalator to allow for convenience and comfort in shopping. DLF Mall Of India would also be the first LEED GOLD certified mall in North India.
