Flag Hoisting and Republic Day Parade at Police Lines on 70th Republic Day in Noida
In Noida, Indian National Flag is hoisted at the Gautam Buddha Nagar Police Line at Surajpur situated at Greater Noida. A ceremonial parade is conducted and police personnel are conferred with certificate of appreciation on the occasion. The republic day celebrations are attended by the SP City, SP Dehat, SP Crime and other Police Officers and Jawans. Colourful cultural programs are presented by school children with patriotic theme dominating the celebrations.
Floral Tributes to Martyrs at Shaheed Smarak on 70th Republic Day in Noida
Retd Lt Gen G L Bakshi, Chairman of the Shaheed Smarak Sanstha, will be the chief guest and hoist the national flag at the memorial. Prople gather for the for the Republic day celebrations and pay floral tributes to the martyrs at Shaheed Smarak in sector 29 at 0930 hrs on January 26, 2019.
International Wrestlers Sing Indian National Anthem on Republic Day in Greater Noida
The third leg of the world’s biggest wrestling league is currently underway the Gautam Buddha University Indoor Stadium in Greater Noida. On 70th Republic Day nationals from 14 other countries will join millions of Indians to sing the national anthem along with them to mark the historic occasion.
These wrestlers currently taking part in the Pro Wrestling League Season 4 come from Venezuela, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Canada, Ukraine, Russia, France, Colombia, Romania, Hungary, Georgia, Qatar, Moldova and Estonia . They all will be part of the Republic Day celebration on January 26.
Noida-Greater Noida Metro Rail Aqua Line Flagged Off on 70th Republic Day in Noida
The much-awaited Aqua Line of Metro Rail to Greater Noida was flagged off by Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath as Republic Day gift to the city on Friday, January 25. The service will be opened for the public from Saturday, the Republic Day.
The Noida-Greater Noida Metro Rail line aka Aqualine is a 29.707 km long metro corridor comprising of 21 metro stations, starting from Noida Sector-71 to Delta Depot Station in Greater Noida.
Delhi CM Inaugurates Mayur Vihar Phase I Flyover on Delhi-Noida Link Road
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday, January 25 inaugurated much delayed 800-metre flyover on Delhi-Noida link road near Mayur Vihar Phase-1 in front of the Mayur Vihar-I metro station. The flyover will connect people traveling between Noida and Akshardham and nearby east Delhi neighbourhoods.
After inauguration, the CM while addressing a public gathering congratulated L&T engineers, PWD minister and officials and said “this 1 km long flyover which is built at the cost of around Rs 50 crore will solve the problem of traffic congestion for commuters between Noida and Akshardham.”
Tight Security Arrangements in Gautam Buddha Nagar District on 70th Republic Day
As Noida City gets ready to celebrate Republic Day, the Gautam Buddha Nagar Police and Traffic Police have been readying for the day with traffic restrictions, security checks at markets, barricading the district and putting up signs for alternate routes. Rigourous checks have been conducted to thwart any attempt to destabilize the security in the district.
Republic Day Traffic Advisory: No entry for Heavy Vehicles from Noida to Delhi from R-Day Eve
The Gautam Buddh Nagar Traffic Police has issued an advisory cautioning against parking heavy goods vehicles on the road side in order to not obstruct road the traffic movement.
A similar ban was put in place in Gautam Buddh Nagar from Tuesday night till Wednesday afternoon in view of the Republic Day rehearsals in Delhi.
Disruptions to Delhi Metro Train Schedule
Delhi Metro services are partially disrupted due to security arrangements on January 26 for Republic Day, and January 29 for the Beating Retreat ceremony. This affects Line 2 (HUDA City Centre – Samaypur Badli), Line 3 (Noida City Center – Dwarka Sector 21), Line 4 (Yamuna Bank – Vaishali), and Line 6 (Kashmere Gate-Escorts Mujesar). Train schedules are modified and some stations remain closed. In addition, all Metro parking lots will be closed from 6 a.m. on January 25 to 2 p.m. on January 26. Republic Day Parade in Delhi
The Republic Day event in Delhi on Saturday, January 26 with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa as the chief guest, will begin with the laying of wreath at the Amar Jawan Jyoti at India Gate by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Around two dozen tableaux of states and central government departments, and performance by school children will mark the 90-minute parade of the 70th Republic Day.
The Republic Day parade in Delhi will start at 9.50 am from Vijay Chowk and pass through Rajpath, Tilak Marg, Bahadur Shah Zafar (BSZ) Marg, Netaji Subhash Marg and proceed for the Red Fort.
If you wish to witness the ceremonial events you have to buy tickets quite early in the month for the unreserved seats which are on first-come-first-served. these are priced between Rs 20 and Rs 100. The limited reserved seats cost Rs 500 which have better proximity to the main stage.
