The colorful annual event that gets you the feel of springtime will return in its 30th edition – Vasant Utsav 2016. Also known by the name of the host city – 30th Noida Flower Show 2016 – would be presented by The Floriculture Society of Noida in association with Noida Authority. Cineraria is theme flower of the show this year.
The three-day long festival, to be held on February 26 – 28, is a celebration of flowers, gardens and plants. Held annually on the vast grounds of Noida Stadium in Sector 21A Basant Utsav is a must-see event to witness the spring in full bloom. Come to the show to appreciate the beauty, feel the texture and immerse in freshness and fragrances.
Theme Flower of The Show – Cineraria
Cineraria, perfect flower to pep up a winter landscape are tender perennials belonging to the Sunflower family. Native to the Canary Islands, they form 12″-24″ tall, mounded clumps of large, lush, bright green leaves that creates a nice accent for the vividly colored, Daisy-like 3″-5″ flowers that stand above it in the spring and summer.
The Theme for Gardens
The rising pollution levels is a big concern in the city. The theme for gardens this year will focus on the plants that can help reduce pollution in environs emphasizing on all the plants that can be used inside homes.

What to Expect at The Noida Flower Show
Expect to be enthralled and inspired while you mosey the floral displays and show gardens as the Noida Stadium is flooded with a riot of colors with participation of over hundred green thumbs. Take a shufti at the pavilion housing all varieties of plants – annuals, perennials and seasonal. Surf the vendor booths and shop for plants and garden accessories. Competitions
The flower show every year welcomes corporate houses, group housing societies, government offices, hospitals, schools, private gardens, house gardens, institutes along with other individual participants. There will be 40 categories for which gardening enthusiasts in the city would be vying for a prize and favored position. Amateur bonsai lovers can rejoice as a special class has been introduced this year in the competition.
The most popular categories of competition is the flower arrangement section – floral designs, most artistic bouquet, garlands by gardeners. Cut-flower displays – the ikebanas, vegetable carving, foliage arrangements, floral designs and rangoli add charm to the flower show. Cactus and succulents, ornamental plants, seasonal flowers, annuals and perennials, garden displays etc attract hordes of entries and visitors to these stalls. Sculpture Gardens, best tray garden, on the spot gardens with emphasis on medicinal herbs will be another categories of strong competition.
Green Shopping
The stadium gets filled with marquees displaying plants and flowers. Individual tents will have stalls offering products and accessories related to floriculture and horticulture by different states. These vendor booths will be selling organic manure, seeds, fruit plants, pottery, ceramics, fragrant oils for aroma therapy and bonsai and many gardening accessories etc.
Photography
The Noida Flower Show is an amazing opportunity for shutterbugs to capture gorgeous blooms and exquisite plants. There are no charges for photography at the Noida Flower Show. Whether you are an amateur or a professional, all you would want to do is – aim and shoot!
Kid-friendly Show
Every year several schools of Noida participate in The Noida Flower Show. Various activities and competitions are organized for children at the show. Rangoli (floral designs), painting, slogan writing and dance competitions at inter-school level are organized. Kids get a chance to explore their nature connect at the flower show.
Food Stalls
While you mosey the displays you can grab a bite at the food stalls. Food from different parts of country would be available besides the ice cream, sweet corn and candy kiosks for kids. You can expect the regular snacks like bhel puri, pani puri, pav bhaji, chow-mien etc and be surprised with the branded burger and pizza stalls too.
Reaching there
Noida Stadium in Sector 21A is bang opposite the Spice Mall. Bal Bharati school is another nearby landmark. It is accessible from all metro stations in the city but Wave City Center Metro Station, Sector 32 would be the closest. You can drive down to this place by referring to the map below. There is ample parking space in the stadium.

Truly colorful, Indrani. Lal Bagh flower show too is quite a hit in Bangalore i have heard. This time I had been to Garden Festival at Garden of Five Senses in Saidul Ajaib, New Delhi. The flower show was a sight to behold. Breathtaking!

I am afraid..there won't be any extension. But you could visit the 'Pushpotsav' – another flower show by the same organizer going to be held in Greater Noida from 4-6 March at the City Park. Hope this helps π
