Shilpotsav 2017 is the biggest shopping festival of Noida held every year at the Ramlila Grounds of Noida Stadium. The event spanning ten days is a fusion of Crafts, culture and Cuisine. The trade fair is conducted by UP Tourism in collaboration with Noida Authority and Noida District Administration. Rita Bahuguna Joshi, Minister for Tourism, Uttar Pradesh inaugurated Shilpotsav 2017 on October 6.
Shilpotsav is very popular with Noida denizens being organized around Diwali shopping time gets a huge footfall. Promotion of rural artisans and handicrafts is the core of this handicraft festival since its inception in 2008. Shilpotsav 2017 is host to around 300 artisans from UP and other states. Artisans from China, Russia and Thailand wil also showcase their wares at the trade fair. Women entrepreneurs are in focus at the trade fair registering a greater participation in numbers this year.

What to expect
Handicrafts
50 handicraft stalls and 100 merchandising stalls. Khurja pottery, Kutchwork on dresses and cushions, Saharanpur Woodwork, Lucknowi chikankari, Rajasthani handicrafts, Baghpat handloom, Glassware from Ferozabad, Black pottery from Azamgarh, Kashmiri shawls and carpets, Terracota products from Gorakhpur, Mojadi from Rajasthan, phulkari from Punjab, carpets from bhadoi, brassware from Aligarh and Moradabad and many more handicrafts from Indian states. Also, find international kiosks from Russia, Thailand and China selling products from their part of the world.
Cultural Evenings
Shilpotsav 2017 will have cultural performances every evening from 5.30pm. Enjoy Ghazal evening session by famous Altaf Raja and Ghulam Dastgir Khan, stand-up comedy events by Madan Shukla and Mona Kamt and poetry sessions. The craft fair also has a list of performances by popular artists including playback singer Kavita Paudwal, folk singer Malini Awasthi, Urmila Srivastava’s classical Kajri Kathak dance. Rock with live performance by Mumbai band – Udaan.
Selfie Point
A photo booth at the festival has a statue of Rani Laxmibai. You can click selfie and groupfie as you like it. Pose. Click. Share.
Food Stalls
Enjoy a veritable variety of food from different states. Savour the state specialties. Shop for pickles, pachak, mouth freshners. Get your food parcel ready to enjoy the food at home. Choice is all yours.
Parking
Visitors who use public transport for commuting to the stadium will have to use gate number 6 to buy entry tickets. Gate 1 will be used by VIPs to park their vehicles. Place in front and adjacent to the stadium is reserved for parking for the visitors.
Ticket
Entry fee is Rs 40. The entry fee has doubled this year. Children below three can enter free of cost. Students in a group of 50 will get 50 per cent concession if they produce a letter signed by the principal of the school.
