46th UP State Shooting Championship (Air, Small Bore & Shotgun) 2023 was organized at Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range, New Delhi from 18th to 26th July, 2023. Uttar Pradesh State Rifle Association (UPSRA) is the organizing body.

UP State Shooting Championship 2023 Categories

The UP State Shooting Championship competition is open to all from ages 10 years and above. However, shooters below the age of 12 years are not allowed to participate in firearms events in this competition. Further, the event has six categories based on age – Sub Youth category (10 to 16 years), Youth category (below 19 years), Junior category (below 21 years), Senior category (below 45 years), Master category (below 60 years), Senior Master category (60 years or above)

Individual and Team Events

The championship has various shooting matches categorized as Air Pistol and Air Rifle events, .22/.32 Rifle and Pistol Events, 12 Bore Events. There are also Team Events in Air & Small Bore as well as Air Events ISSF and Small Bore Events ISSF categories.

Special Category Events

Additionally, the events are organised under ‘Services Category’. These special category events are for Armed Forces personnel from Army, Navy and Air Force.

Sportsperson from Central administrative and police service including state civil administrative and police service up to Gazetted officer rank can participate in ‘Civil Services Only’ Category. New Events for Gazetted Officer level up to Class -II, Non-Gazetted (constable to Inspector) U.P. Police, P.A.C./Home
Guard & Civil Defence were also held.

Online Registration Mandatory

The participation required online registration with payment of entry fee provided shooter fulfils the prerequisite criteria.

Two teams from each district gets a chance to participate. The shooter belonging to a specific
district team represents the same district in team events.

Air Pistol (ISSF) Championship 10m Youth Men’s Individual – Aryan from Baghpat

Air Pistol (ISSF) Championship 10m Men’s Team – Akash Teotia, Arjun Kumar, Pankaj from Bulandshahr

Pooja Tomar won the gold medal in 10m air pistol women’s junior competition.
