Sharbat Mela 2015 – Top Things to Do in Noida and Around during Summer

The tap water from the overhead tanks is perfect hot to make cuppa noodles. Ahem! they aren’t banned yet. Right?! If you go by the weatherman, temperatures are going to hover around 40-42°C in Noida over the next two weeks with probability of rain being dismal. (See this fortnight’s Weather Info-graph below)  So what’s best way to beat the heat. Chillers!

Dilli Haat Sharbat Mela

Yo! Good old Aam Panna, Shikanji, Milk Shakes, Fruit Slush and Squashes to the rescue. Kiwi flavor from Mapro is our current favorite – and when mixed with coconut water – it tastes divine. This I had tasted first at Dilli Haat near INA Market. Incidentally, they hosted an amazing three-day ‘Sharbat Festival’ which ended on 7th June. If you have missed that event, you can still be part of another Sharbat Mela  to be held at Dilli Haat, Pitampura.

At this annual Sharbat Mela one can taste various traditional drinks from different regions of the country like Kokum, Thandai, Sattu, Panna, Lassi, Jalzeera, Kulfi-Faluda, Lemon, Mint and the ubiquitous Chuski or Barf ka Gola. The most exotic flavored drinks of Kevda, Sandal, Khus and Rose can also be tasted here. One can also shop for traditional products like Ittar, Gulabjal and handicrafts from different parts of India.
