Five students from Noida bagged second and third ranks in the CBSE Class 10 results. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the Class 10 board exam results 2018 on Tuesday, May 29 at 1.15 pm. This is the first batch to have appeared for the Class 10 Board exams after the CBSE decided to junk the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) and reintroduce the board exams after a gap of considerable years.
Class 10 Result in a Nutshell
The CBSE board declared the results on its official website cbseresults.nic.in. The overall pass percentage was 86.70 per the board. Girls continued to outshine the boys with an impressive pass percentage of 88.67. Boys registered a pass percentage of 85.32. The CBSE had conducted the Class 10 examinations from March 5 to April 4, 2018. The Math paper leak had marred the examination process and had cast aspersions of of a retest. However, later the plan for a retest was shelved as the impact of leak was contained as per the news reports.

CBSE Class 10 Board Exam 2018 Toppers
Prakhar Mittal from Gurugram, Rimzhim Agrawal from Bijnor, Nandni Garg from Shamli and Sreelakshmi G from Cochin, have scored 499 marks out of 500 to jointly top the CBSE Class 10th Examinations.
Five students from Noida bagged the second and third ranks in the CBSE Class X results.
Anshika Gupta and Anchit Jain of Amity International School, Sector 44 secured second rank along with five others. L Gokulnath of Somerville School, Sector 22, Snigdha Basu of Vishwa Bharati Public School, Sector 28 and Anushka Pandey of Bal Bharati Public School, Sector 21 shared the third rank with 11 others. Second rank holders Anshika Gupta and Anchit Jain secured 498 marks each. While L Gokulnath , Snigdha Basu and Anushka Pandey bagged the third rank with 497 marks each.
How the Noida Toppers Stacked Up
Second ranker Anshika Gupta (16) scored a perfect 100 in English, Science and Social Studies. She got 99 each in Maths and Hindi. She is daughter of a Delhi-based chartered accountant, and wishes to follow in her father’s footsteps and join his firm later.
Anchit Jain, son of a chief financial officer in a media company, is studying non-medical. He has scored a 100 in all the four subjects- English, Hindi, Maths, Science and 98 in Social Studies.
Gokulnath had a feather in his cap already when he recently cleared the first stage of the National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) and emerged as the Noida topper. Gokulnath scored 497 out of 500 marks with 100 in Maths, Social Studies and Sanskrit, 99 in Science and 98 in English. He has chosen non-medical for Class XI.
Snigdha Basu (16), daughter of a senior manager in an IT firm in Gurgaon, has got a 100 in Maths, Social Studies and Sanskrit, 99 in Science and 98 in English. She wants to become a doctor and has chosen medical stream.
Anushka Pandey (16) said she wants to prepare for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE).
Earlier With 499 marks out of 500, Meghna Srivastava from Step By Step School, Noida, topped the Class 12 Board examination. : CBSE class 12 result was declared on May 26, 2018.
Interesting Facts
The Board has revised the pass mark criteria for this batch. As per the revision, a student has to secure 33% marks in total (internal assessment and board exams taken together) in order to pass the exam
For the typing error in class 10 English paper, the Board has decided to give two marks to all those students who had appeared for the paper
