Jackie’s Chinese Restaurant is an eatery tucked in the corner of first floor of Vasant Square Mall in South Delhi. They serve all popular Chinese dishes along with your favourite ‘Momos’. This eatery today made a legendary attempt to enter the Limca Book of Records for making ‘The Biggest Momo in India’.

Mr Gaurav Singh, Owner of the restaurant, shared that making the country’s biggest momo was never attempted before. So, it was totally Gaurav’s brainchild to etch his and his restaurant’s name in the annals of food records.

This, most certainly, was not an easy task. It took Gaurav along with the restaurant’s chefs and crew nearly fifteen days to put together things for the final show. To start with, the stove and steamer were custom made. The steamer made of steel sheets is 5 ft in diameter, 3 ft high and weighs nearly 45 kg. The stove comprised of two big gas burners to boil the water for steaming this giant momo.

The most exciting part is the ingredients that goes into making of this giant. This record setting Momo weighing over 78 kg spanning a 5 ft diameter had its dough covering kneaded out of 27 kg of refined flour. It has a filling of whopping 25 kg of Chicken Keema, 21 kg of chopped onion mixed with other condiments and sauces. It took nearly three hours to prepare and cook India’s Biggest Momo.

Once the momo was done there was loud cheering and clapping at the restaurant lauding the fantastic efforts. People jostled to get a glimpse of this record setter and capture in their cameras this historical moment.

The event was witnessed by food bloggers from Delhi-NCR and media professionals from esteemed publications. Patrons of the restaurant, freinds and family members of owner were also present to extend their support and encouragement.

Everyone who attended was given snacks and soft beverages. Later, the Momo was distributed after the ceremony to invitees, employees, friends and family and leftover momo was perhaps donated to a social event marking the birthday of owner’s mother.

However, the restaurant awaits confirmation from the certifying authority. post which it will become the record holder of India’s Biggest Momo.
