Brijesh Narain Singh takes charge as the Gautam Budhdha Nagar District Magistrate

In a major bureaucratic reshuffle announced by the Uttar Pradesh government on Wednesday night, several top district administrative and police officers were transferred out of the district. As many as 84 IAS and other 54 IPS officers were reshuffled in the process.

Gautam Buddha Nagar district magistrate (DM) NP Singh will take over as DM of Saharanpur, while Brijesh Narain Singh will take over as the DM of the district.

Newly appointed district magistrate (DM) of Gautam Budh Nagar Brajesh Narain Singh took charge on Thursday, April 27,2017 evening after Wednesday’s major reshuffle of Uttar Pradesh (UP) bureaucrats.

BN Singh took charge at the treasury department in the presence of other administrative officials. He said his priority will be to ensure that the state government’s policies are expeditiously implemented.

Singh, a 2009 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, was serving as additional resident commissioner in New Delhi prior to his posting as DM, Gautam Budh Nagar.

“Whatever the priorities of the state government, will also be the priority of the district administration under my watch. We will be focussing on delivery and transparency. The parameter of every work done by the administration will be the satisfaction of the public and government,” the new district magistrate said.

BN Singh said the schemes, policies and plans announced by the state and union government will reach the public through an efficient government machinery system.

“I expect support and dedication from fellow officials of the district administration so that polices and schemes announced by the government can reach the needy. I also expect all officials and staff to be present in their office on time every day to serve the public,” he said.

Brijesh Narayan Singh was born in 1965 in Azamgarh district of UP. He pursued B.Sc. MA(Phil). He is 1994 batch UPPCS inductee. He was promoted to IAS in 2009. He served as the Director of NDMC from October 2014 to December 2014 in New Delhi. He was posted as Special Secretary, UP Medical Health & Family Welfare Deptt in 2016. He held the post of Additional Resident Commissioner in New Delhi from October 2016 to April 2017. For the first time he took over as District Magistrate & Collector of Gautam Buddha Nagar. He held this post from April 2017 to March 2020. In March 2020 he was attached to the Revenue Council.

Luv Kumar will take over as the senior superintendent of police, Gautam Budh Nagar, from Saharanpur. The post of SSP in Gautam Buddha Nagar is currently held by Dharmendra Singh Yadav who previously also served as the SSP of Ghaziabad.

Ghaziabad SSP Deepak Kumar will now take over as SSP, Lucknow. Hari Narayan Singh has been made as SSP, Ghaziabad.

Nagendra Prasad Singh, the former DM of GN Nagar, will now take over as the DM of Saharanpur district. It will be a challenging experience for NP Singh, considering the volatile situation of Saharanpur which recently saw clashes between two communities during Ambedkar Yatra. NP Singh was lauded for his role as an administrator during the Bisada lynching case and the racial attack against Africans in Greater Noida.
