Jumu’atul wida – the Friday of Farewell – is celebrated with traditional religious fervour by moslems all over the world. Noida is no different. The Jama Masjid in Harola, Sector 8, Nithari Masjid, Sector 31 and other big and small mosques in Noida witness a mass congregation of people to offer Jumu’ah prayers.
Jumu’atul wida is observed on the last Friday of Ramazan-ul-mubarak, the ninth month of Hijri calendar, being July 01 or 25th day of Ramadan this year. Ramadan that commenced on June 07, is set to draw to a close on or around July 07, depending upon sightings of the moon, with Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations
