Gautam Buddh Nagar with a population  of over  million is dotted with religious places belonging to different faiths. Muslim population of nearly 13 per cent resides in the district. Several big and small mosques and Imambargah cater to this smaller section of society. We have already collated a list of mosques in Noida. Today, let us give you a brief account of Imambargah in Noida and around.

Noida Imambargah in Sector 50

Noida Imambargah, primarily is a huge Masjid complex which annually hosts Ashura Juloos and Chehlum (shohda e karbala a.s) Juloos during Muharram. It was built during 1990s with contribution from the local Muslim community. The aura of this masjid is splendid during Eid and Azadari events.

All daily (Fajr, Zohar, Asr, Maghrib and Isha), weekly (Juma) and Eid prayers are held by Jamaat (Congregation) and is led by Pesh Imam sahib Molana Janab Ghulam Ali Sahab. Majalis-e- Aza for Ashra is held every year during Muharram and Arbaeen ashra majalis is held every year in the month of Safar.

Easily a central location in sector 50, Noida Imambargah is the biggest Shia’a masjid in the city. You can not miss this grand mosque which is in close proximity to the Ramagya school and the church. Chehlum Juloos is carried out from Sector 22 to Sector 50 Masjid evey year.  Some of azadari events, specifically on 20th Ramazan, are held at Late Khan Sahab’s Residence in Sector 22.

Greater Noida Shia Masjid and Imambargah

Masjid and Imambargah is located in Knowledge Park II, Greater Noida. It was commissioned in 2010  and larger part of it was completed by February 2014. Although some portion is still under construction but this edifice built with the efforts of Late Janab Safdar Abbas Rizvi Sahab, Ex. General Manager- Project – Greater Noida Authority and contribution of Greater Noida Muslim community is remarkable.

The massive masjid complex is spread across 4 thousand square meters. It houses a separate  flat for the Resident Maulana and for the Muazzin within the Masjid premises.

Fiqh e Jaffari faith is followed at this mosque. However, it is open to all to perform namaaz here. Chholas Sadat

Chholas is a famous sadat village in NCR some 40 km from Delhi and about 4 km from Kot ka Pul on the main GT Road point. The history of  Chholas Sadat  is very old . This village is very close to Greater Noida and now comes under Gautam Budh Nagar district. Earlier till 1976 it was in Bulandshahr District and before that under Ghaziabad till 1997. There are four Mosques, two Idgahs, one Karbala and twelve big and twenty customary Imambargahs in the village.

Gowali Sadaat

Gowali Sadaat is a village tucked in the western part of Uttar Pradesh famous for Azadaari in Muharram. It is some 140 km north-east of Delhi connected by road along NH-24. The nearest railway station is Chandpur of Bijno about 5 km far from Gowali.

Gowali Sadaat has an Imambargah from where Tazia Juloos of the 10th day of Muharram and the Juloos of Imam Ali Asghar during the night of 9th Muharram are carried out. Martyrdom of Bibi Sakina a.s. on the13th Safar is also observed and women from all over western Uttar Pradesh join in azadaari (mourning congregation).
