Farmers protesting in Greater Noida
The appointment of Ravikumar NG as CEO comes after a series of protests by farmers demanding a 64 per cent increase in land compensation for their lands acquired for the development of Greater Noida.
Farmers from 124 villages have been protesting against the Greater Noida authority and staging a dharna, asserting that they will continue their agitation if their demands are not met reported a leading news daily HT.
Moreover, homebuyers too were concerned over delays in property registrations. They believed the former CEO was inundated with work of both Noida and Greater Noida.
Known as Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s “favourite officer” this significant reshuffle comes after local leaders told the chief minister that Maheshwari was not paying much attention to Greater Noida, which was detrimental to the BJP’s prospects ahead of the 2024 elections.
